Coding Reality (Asara Mamoros) - How G-d Creates The World Ep. 2

G-d wants to create a reality with defined rules and parameters, so He needs to compress His Infinite Energy into a more containable form. He does this through a process called Tzimtzum - loosely translated as contraction, condensing or compressing.

A way for us to imagine this process is to imagine how we communicate with other people. Think of the process:

First you have an emotion that you want to convey.

Then you think about this emotion and how to express it.

Then you use your words to actually speak it out.

These steps go from a very personal, deep experience, to a more 2 dimensional version of that feeling, till you can express it in a few words.

So speech is a lower experience than the thoughts that proceed it and the emotion that proceeds that. Furthermore, speech is a function of expressing something inside of you to someone outside of you.

When G-d creates the world, He wants to achieve both these things: lowering His energy, and creating something that seems outside of Himself.

His speech is made up of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet, the Aleph Beis. These are the letters that G-d uses to generate reality, and it’s like the 0s and 1s of binary, but on a whole other scale.

We’ll see how G-d uses these letters to create all of reality: from the galaxies and the sky, to every human, leaf and fly.
